Just a little about us...
Located on Borror Road in Grove City, Ohio, the Columbus Aero R/C Club is one of the oldest R/C modeling clubs in central Ohio.
On any given day, virtually every aspect of R/C aviation is represented here! flying from our 2 grass runways, you will see highly detailed scale, sport, fun-fly, combat, jets and fully aerobatic "3-D" aircraft. We also have a dedicated area for R/C helicopters and our membership includes some of the finest "chopper" pilots around!
We have a covered shelter with picnic tables located behind the "flight lines", where our members and guests can relax, enjoy a snack, take in the action and perhaps engage in some "Bench Flying".
Our members are the real key to the club's success and whether you are new to R/C flying or a seasoned pilot, everyone will always make you feel welcome in the safe, friendly and relaxed atmosphere prevalent at our field.
To assist the new pilot, the club has several skilled instructors available. So if you're interested in learning to fly, stop in, check us out and introduce yourself!
Model aviation is an activity that can truly be enjoyed by young and old alike and makes for a fun and educational family hobby as well. We invite you and your family and friends to visit us soon!
Club History . . .
Our club was established March of 1965 by two avid RC molders. They first started flying in the parking lot of Briggs Elementary School.
In 1967 the club began flying vacant land just east of the Briggs Elementary School , but had to move due to radio interference with local HAM Operators.
From 1967 to 1979 flying occurred several available properties along Robert Roads to Harrisburg. Then in 1979 the club members started flying at Grubbs Farm (north of the fence row were we fly now).
We have been flying at our present site, on Borror Road, from 1986 to present.
